Having what you want vs Wanting what you have
Many a time in life, we lament that we never get what we want
We go out of our way to race to the top
Striving hard to fulfil all our dreams
But do we know what succeeding really means?
Is success achieving everything you set your eyes on?
Or does it lie in ensuring that come what may, you will smile?
Is it the feeling of pride which lasts even when the prize has gone?
Or is it the feeling you get after you have crossed the last mile?
Simply having all that you want will often leave you hollow
For you're left with only fleeting memories of what you achieved
Whereas if you learn to WANT what you have
You learn the art of reinforcing your strength by eliminating your dependence on a need.
